My fascination with pottery began as a child, hiking with my father. One day, I found a Haudenosaunee pottery shard. I could feel the imprint of their fingers, the designs they made as well as I could see the blackened clay where it had been fired in a pit fire. This experience filled me with wonder and curiosity about the formation of these ancient vessels.
I reside in Upstate New York, and I have been a lover of the arts, history and nature for as long as I can remember. My early years of expressing my artistic side were focused on photography.
At the age of 50 I walked into a ceramic studio, a spell was cast and I have been enchanted ever since. I am fortunate to have a home ceramic studio and kiln and have benefited from the wisdom of many talented ceramic instructors.
I am a hand builder and enjoy making sculptural pieces. My style has been described as spontaneous and whimsical. Making pottery brings me great joy which I hope to share with others.
My love of fashion, texture, and elaborate Courtier styles inspired me to create my Royal rabbit series.
A few of my pieces can be seen at Papavero Clay Studio in Skaneateles NY and I enjoy participating in Art shows.
