Feats of Clay is an annual event sponsored by Onondaga Community College (OCC) and the IPA as well as Clayscapes Pottery Inc, who also serve as hosts.   It was established in 1987 as a means to foster education in the ceramic arts in the Syracuse area high schools, and has grown to include schools in both the North Country and the Southern Tier.

Students from over 20 participating high schools converge on the quad of the OCC campus to compete in "The Feats of Clay Olympics."  The crazy-fun events include the No Hands Throw, the Cylinder Stack, Mug Production, Pot Put, Blindfold Throw and the Highest Coiling, all of which have been favorites of the students over the years.  Teamwork and good sportsmanship are imperative, and the winning team gets to house the trophy in its school until the following year.
